Kinky: Who would watch us debate?

Earlier this week, KRLD radio in Dallas provided the closest thing to a debate between Democratic agriculture commissioner candidates Hank Gilbert and Kinky Friedman.

Friedman did an interview with the station’s Scott Braddock, in which he talked about what he thinks his role as agriculture commissioner would be.

Gilbert demanded equal time, and got it. He fired back at his foe, saying Friedman refuses to debate him.

Friedman has said he does not believe anyone would actually watch such a debate.

In other Gilbert news, his campaign recently confused an endorsement by the Texas Farmers’ Union PAC as an endorsement from the National Farmers’ Union, which does not make endorsements.

Gilbert’s campaign called it a mistake, and told the Dallas Morning News, “We’ve had so many endorsements over the last week that we confused one.”

Friedman’s campaign responded, “These guys cannot even get their good news right.”

He can ask for a copy of the video and he can be the only one to watch it at his home.

0.02 I read your post, Kinky's bio and his positions regarding Ag Commissioner. Give me a break. Kinky's just shopping for a public office and ended up in the Ag Commissioner slot. If you've ever met Hank Gilbert or read his positions you'll quickly realize he's more suited to serve Texas as Ag Commissioner. So I have to ask the question what has Kinky done to deserve being considered in a position critical to an agricultural state like Texas?
